Our Proven Approach:
Driving Community Health & Wellness

The Interfaith Health Network (IHN) has developed a structured, community-driven approach that tackles health disparities by leveraging the inherent trust found within faith communities. Refined through an academically-validated pilot initiative, our approach is designed to be replicable and scalable in any community facing systemic barriers to care.

We focus on three core commitments that ensure our work is targeted, trusted, and impactful.

Listening and Targeted Solutions

We start by listening. We use a scientifically proven method to measure community health needs and organizational readiness, ensuring our work is focused precisely where it matters most. This systematic process avoids guesswork and ensures every resource is deployed for maximum impact.

Proof Points: Validation and Strategy

Academic Validation:
Our effective approach was refined and validated through our initial partnership with Thomas Jefferson University and Drexel University. This collaboration ensures our strategies are measurable, accurate, and replicable in diverse settings

Sharing Best Practices:
We actively share the science behind our success including the Lott Carey Baptist Convention and the WOCIP 9th Annual Conference, to help other organizations and health systems adopt proven strategies for effective community engagement.

Empowering Community Health Messengers

We partner with faith-based organizations to develop and train leaders from within the community. These leaders act as Health Messengers, bridging the communication gap and delivering trusted resources directly to the people they serve. This is the key to building sustainable local capacity.

Core Program:
Building Local Capacity

The Community Health Navigator Program:
This flagship initiative equips local faith leaders and volunteers with the training and tools needed to disseminate critical health information, facilitate access to screenings, and connect community members directly with care. This program is central to establishing a sustainable, internal health resource for the community

Accelerating Access to Advanced Care

A group of healthcare professionals

We work to remove the barriers of historical mistrust and lack of information that often prevent underserved communities from accessing cutting-edge health solutions. Our partnerships create clear, reliable pathways to advanced care opportunities and resources

Proof Points: Clinical Access and Expansion

Demystifying Clinical Trials:
We provide ethical, clear, and comprehensive education to help communities understand the benefits of and reduce fear associated with medical studies. This approach builds trust in research and increases equitable access to life-saving clinical trials.

Scaling Our Impact: Through strategic partnerships with leading institutions, including Memorial Sloan Kettering and the American Cancer Society, we are actively bringing this proven approach to new regions, including New York and Ohio, to deliver specialized resources and community-focused solutions at scale.
